(1) What does our civilization depend upon? (हमारी सभ्यता किस पर निर्भर करती है ?)

Ans. Our Civilization(), our culture(f), our Swaraj depend not upon multiplying our wants self-indulgence (अतिभोग), but upon restricting (सीमित) wants-self denial(त्याग).

(2) What did Zakir Hussain pledge himself to?

(जाकिर हुसैन ने खुद को क्या वचन दिया था?) Ans. Dr. Zakir Hussain pledges himself to the loyalty (8) of our past culture, to the service of totality of country’s culture, to work for its strength and progress(ft प्रगति) and welfare (कल्याण) of its people.

(3) How did the Under-Secretary change his appearance to

accompany Nanukaka?

Ans. The ‘trial and tribulations’ author talks are the

hardship and torments (कठिनाई और पीड़ा) that people had to

discrimination.

Ans. Autumn and summer are related to spring season; because spring comes before the arrival of summer. Autumn starts with the departure of summer season.

Ans. Macavity is called a criminal because it does always crimes but it is never caught it is never present at crime place. It is a mystery for Scotland Yard it does not follow the rules.

(7) Why did the speaker consider the snake ‘a king in exile’?

Ans. The speaker considered it ‘a king in exile’ because it was peaceful and had done nothing wrong with him. He was his guest as well. Its look was like a king in exile. It did not misuse its power.

(8) Who were known as the University Wits?

Ans. University wits are a group of English dramatist, who wrote in the 16th century and were educated at the universities Oxford and Cambridge. They significantly influenced the development of English drama. The group includes-John Lyly, Robert Greene, George Peele, Thomas Lodge, Thomas Nashe, Thomas Kyd and Christopher Marlowe.

(9) Name four countries where English is used as a second language. (उन चार देशों के नाम लिखिए जहाँ अंग्रेजी को दूसरी भाषा के रूप में प्रयोग किया जाता है।)

Ans. English is used as a second language in many Asian and African Countries. These countries are- India, Singapore, Malaysia, Nigeria, Namibia, Botswana, etc. In these countries, English is recognised as the second official language.

(10) What are the dramatic structures of tragedy?

Ans. In a drama there are some different parts of plot. They are generally called dramatic structures. The dramatic structure of tragedy consist five parts- Exposition, Rising action, climax, falling action and resolution.
